You Are Invited To the West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games Dance Competition!

Join us as we Celebrate our Athletes, Families, Communities, and Our Wonderful Country this Year June 9 – 14, 2022 in Payson Utah. Seven Incredible Dance Oriented Days of Fun, Education, and Competition You Won’t Want to Miss!


AAU is honored to offer Dance Athletes 3 days of education and two action-packed days of intense and fun competition at the 2022 West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games, hosted in Payson, Utah June 9-14, 2022.

THE FUTURE CHAMPION DANCE CAMP  kicks off the week’s activities Thursday through Saturday, June 9-11th with a variety of dance workshops. The focus is on the Dancer’s Ability, not only in Technique but also in the Personal Development of each athlete. From Healthy Nutrition to Fun Creative Routines with a concentration on Floor Craft,  Posture, Poise, Mitigating the Oops in Dance, and more combined in various dance styles! 
OPENING CEREMONIES with a tribute to Payson’s movie “Footloose” will be open to the public and commence at 3:00 PM Sunday Afternoon June 12th at Payson High Gymnasium. As part of our AAU tradition to give back to the communities that so graciously host our events, we are collecting canned goods and donations for the community food bank. Receive Your ticket to the Opening Ceremonies when you bring at least one can per person of any type of (commercially) canned food and a $2 donation. Together we can make a difference! The Parade of Champions and a full program to honor the attending athletes, their families, and the Payson Community is scheduled. A memorable afternoon will be followed by an event open only to the Athletes and their families – the infamous Epic Gala & Pizza Party! A time for forging new friendships, fun dance games, lots of social dancing, and a closing Showcase of Stars presented by our dancers. 
SPECTATOR TICKETS are available for Monday and Tuesday’s Competitions and are sold on our website  A one-day Adult ticket is $15 and for Children 7-12 the admittance fee is $10. Children under 7 are free. Seating is limited therefore we cannot guarantee tickets to be available at the door. Advance purchase is recommended.
THE DANCE GAMES are an intensive two-day schedule of competition beginning Monday morning June 13th. Solos, Showdances, Formations, and Team Group Dances, in Large and Small Groups of various Dance Genres, including but not limited to Ballroom- Cabaret- Hip Hop- Breakdance- Contemporary-  Folk- Jazz, and more compete for an opportunity to earn a Bronze, Silver or Gold AAU Jr Olympic Gold Medal.
The Traditional Ballroom Competition commences Tuesday, June 14th.  Bronze, Silver, and Gold Syllabus levels are offered in Std, Latin, Rhythm and Smooth in Single Dances, and AAU Jr Olympic medaling Syllabus Multi Dances.  AAU Jr Olympic medals are awarded in the Closed Syllabus Bronze, Silver, and Gold Multi Dance Events as well as the  Open multi dance events in Advance, Pre Champ, and Championship levels. A prestigious 10 Dance Trophy will be awarded to the top-ranking Couple in a combined Standard & Latin 5 Dance score in the Open Champion Category in the qualifying Age Divisions. And a very special syllabus Championship Polka Dance is reserved for 3-7 years old Mini Dancers.
All participants receive the West Coast AAU Jr Olympic Games T-Shirts, Tote Bags, and  ‘Achievement Certificate’ along with their Medals and Ribbons. Many athletes use their Certificates as a record of attendance to incorporate in their College Resume. It is a well-known fact in the world of sports that AAU is ‘Where Champions are Born”
