AAU is honored to offer Dance Athletes 4 days of education and action-packed days of fun and an intense World Class Competition at the 2023 West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games, hosted in Burbank, CA. June 22-25, 2023.
THE FUTURE CHAMPION DANCE SUMMIT will kick off the Dance Games with a variety of educational dance workshops for Athletes, and Coaches focusing on the personal development of each Dancer’s Ability. Healthy Nutrition, Leadership, Dance Etiquette, and Choreography are hot topics covered in 2023. Stay posted for info!
OPENING CEREMONIES and the Parade of Champions along with a full program to honor the attending athletes, their families, and the Community will be held. As part of our AAU tradition to give back to the communities that so graciously host our events, AAU Dance will also be hosting an AAU Care Event for athlete participation. Together we can make a difference!
FRIDAY NIGHT GALA, SHOW, and FUNDRAISER – is open only to the Athletes and their families. Over the years the infamous Epic Gala & Pizza Party has become a time for forging new friendships, fun dance games, lots of social dancing, and a closing Showcase of Stars presented by our dancers. This event is hosted by the AAU Dance Ambassadors.

THE DANCE GAMES are an intensive competition of Ballroom Single and Multi dances, Solos, Showdances, Formations, and Team Group Dances, in Large and Small Groups of various Dance Genres, including but not limited to Ballroom- Cabaret- Hip Hop- Breakdance- Contemporary- Folk- Jazz, Clogging and more competing for an opportunity to earn a Bronze, Silver or the most prestigious” AAU Jr Olympic Gold Medal”.
West Coast AAU Junior Olympic participants are awarded 1st through 8th place West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Ribbons are awarded in Std, Latin, Rhythm and Smooth in Single Dances. . AAU Jr Olympic Medals 1st through 3rd placement are awarded in the Closed Syllabus Bronze, Silver, and Gold Multi Dance Events as well as the Open multi dance events in Advance, Pre Champ, and Championship levels. A prestigious West Coast AAU Junior Olympic Games 10 Dance Trophy will be awarded to the top-ranking Couple in a combined Standard & Latin 5 Dance score in the Open Champion Category in the qualifying Age Divisions. New this year -And a very special syllabus Championship Polka Dance is reserved for 3-7 years old Mini Dancers.
All participants receive the West Coast AAU Jr Olympic Games T-Shirts, Tote Bags, and ‘Achievement Certificate’ along with their Medals and Ribbons. Many athletes use their Certificates as a record of attendance to incorporate in their College Resume. It is a well-known fact in the world of sports that AAU is ‘Where Champions are Born”
